Profile
Drawing on our expertise in geriatric nursing, we promote interdisciplinary research spanning nursing, preventive medicine and public health. Within nursing, our research bridges the gap between educational practice and clinical and community challenges. We focus on topics such as communicating with older adults, active listening skills, ageism, disaster preparedness in long-term care facilities, reminiscence therapy and life review, and dementia prevention. Additionally, from the perspectives of preventive medicine, epidemiology and public health, we are expanding our research into areas such as the prevention of infectious diseases, the effects of smoking and new tobacco products on immunity, oral health, health behaviours and mental health among college students, emergency and sports-related fields, and the prevention of heatstroke. Through integrating nursing's practical knowledge with preventive medicine and public health methodologies, our goal is to generate evidence that contributes to the health maintenance of older adults, the prevention of infectious diseases, the promotion of health education, and the provision of preventive community support.
